Formed in 2011 out of Atlanta, GA as an ‘alterna-gressive’ 5-piece band, Margins of Society sets itself apart in the field of rock proving that rock is alive and well.
Encompassing a wide variety of fresh and innovative styles, their second album “Disconnected” (released 11/14/2015) is a clear demonstration of Margin of Society’s ability to push the envelope of diversity in the rock genre. From reggae/jazz-like “Diminished Returns”, to pop-rock “Steep Climb”, to hard-driving “Even More”, each song has a unique characteristic while maintaining an overall edgy rock attitude.
“…a hugely satisfying record that covers a lot of musical scope…” -Fireworks Magazine Issue#74 (March 2016)
“…interesting in its diversity and ambition in presenting an album that throws a few curveballs and can’t be accused of settling into a comfortable rut.” -PowerPlay Magazine Issue#184 (March 2016)
Building off the success of their debut album “Marginal at Best” released in 2013, and 1st place winner of the 2014 Sweetwater 27-band battle of the bands, Margins of Society drew from a rich landscape of musical influences and experience to create a stirring compilation sure to entertain if not inspire the listener.
No matter your age, background, or musical taste, album “Disconnected” will have something to which you can relate and connect.
